Last month we went to Ottawa for a couple of days. I've never been to Canada before, so I was really curious how it would be.
After a very long and tiring travel day, from Brussels to New York - from New York to Montreal - from Montreal to Ottawa, we arrived early in the evening. We decided to freshen up in the hotel, went out for some food and met with some people in an Irish pub. Apparently they have a lot of Irish pubs in Ottawa.
The next days it was time to do some exploring. Because the hotel was situated downtown, this is where I started. First I had to see the touristy stuff, like Parliament Hill, the canal, Byward Market, the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica and of course that creepy thing in front of the National Gallery, and furthermore just walk around to explore the nearest neighbourhoods.
I have to say I really liked this city. It's a big city, especially when comparing it to Maastricht, but it still felt compact and cosy. Also, the people are really nice and helpful. To me, walking around in Ottawa felt a bit like walking around in Disney Land with it's idyllic streets and buildings.
On one of my exploring days I decided to wear my favourite jeans skirt from summer and dress it up all wintery ;) I styled it with a white blouse, (of course) a black sweater and my favourite ankle-boots. It's actually a very basic and simple outfit, but a minimalistic style is obviously my thing! I love the fact that you can make endless combinations and even dress summer pieces up to all-year-round pieces.
Let me know what your favourite all-year-round piece is!
Oh, and have you ever been to Canada and what did you think of it?
